my most memorable incident

Unforgettable Day

Last month, my university buddies - Pamod, Sudesh, Bhanu, Dinuka, Dilshan, Sashi, Pathiba, Niranga, Sureni, Uthpala, Gima and Tharuka - embarked on a heartwarming journey to reconstruct Nelumpathgama Primary School in the quaint town of Kekirawa. We organized the endeavor, and as we passed through Kekirawa, we purchased necessary equipment and painting materials. After a satisfying lunch at "Kumbuk Sewana" Hotel, we navigated the challenging rural terrain to reach our destination.

The difficulty of transportation did not deter our spirits. For a week, we dedicated ourselves to reviving the school, painting its walls, and rejuvenating the playground. Amidst our efforts, we even took breaks to bathe in serene lakes, creating memories that blended the joy of hard work with the beauty of nature.

One evening, we decided to take a break from our usual routine and enjoyed a delightful dinner at a friend's house in my university. The warmth of camaraderie and shared laughter added another layer to our unforgettable experience.

The kindness of the neighbors around the school played a pivotal role. Their support and assistance were invaluable as we navigated the challenges of the rural environment. Their generosity touched our hearts, making the entire experience even more meaningful.

As the week concluded, the transformed school stood as a testament to our collective dedication. On the final day, we presented gifts to the students, witnessing the joy in their eyes as they received them. The sense of fulfillment and happiness within our group was immeasurable.

Looking ahead, we are inspired to seek out more opportunities to make a positive impact. This journey not only rebuilt a school but also strengthened the bonds among us. As university students, we discovered the profound joy that comes from giving back, and we are eager to continue embracing such opportunities in the future.

That was the incident my most memorable...good bye guys 👋

Article on environmental problem in Sri Lanka

environmental problem

Sri Lanka grapples with several environmental challenges that threaten its ecosystems and biodiversity. Deforestation, driven by urbanization and agricultural expansion, poses a significant threat to the island's lush rainforests and diverse wildlife. Unregulated industrial activities contribute to water pollution, impacting rivers and coastal areas.

The improper disposal of waste, both plastic and non-biodegradable materials, exacerbates environmental degradation. Inadequate waste management systems strain the environment, leading to soil contamination and harm to marine life. Additionally, air pollution levels rise due to vehicle emissions and industrial processes, affecting both public health and the overall ecological balance.

Climate change further intensifies challenges, resulting in erratic weather patterns, rising sea levels, and increased frequency of natural disasters. Coastal erosion threatens communities and habitats along the island's extensive coastline.

Deforestation :

Deforestation and the clearing of land for agriculture, urban development, and infrastructure projects have led to the loss of precious forest cover in Sri Lanka. This has negative consequences for biodiversity and the environment.

Water Pollution :

Pollution of rivers and water bodies is a significant issue. Industrial effluents, agricultural runoff, and inadequate waste management contribute to water pollution, affecting both aquatic life and human health.

Air Pollution :

Increasing vehicular emissions and industrial activities have led to air pollution in urban areas. This has health implications for the population and contributes to climate change.

Waste Management :

The management of solid waste, particularly in urban areas, is a challenge. Inefficient waste disposal methods, such as open dumping and burning, lead to environmental degradation and health risks.

Addressing these environmental issues requires coordinated efforts from the government, industries, and communities. Implementing sustainable practices, enforcing stricter environmental regulations, and promoting public awareness are crucial steps towards preserving Sri Lanka's natural heritage and ensuring a healthier future for generations to come.

Article on cultural symbols

Cultural Symbols of Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka, a country rich in cultural diversity, boasts a myriad of symbols deeply rooted in its history and traditions. The iconic Lion Flag, featuring a golden lion holding a sword, symbolizes the Sinhalese people and their bravery. The Bodhi tree, linked to Buddhism, is revered as a symbol of enlightenment, with the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi in Anuradhapura being one of the oldest living trees in the world.

National Flag of Sri Lanka

The lion on Sri Lanka's national flag, which symbolizes the Sinhalese people and their first ruler, is carrying a sword in its right forepaw. The Buddhist emblem is represented by the dark red/maroon backdrop. Four Sublime States are represented by four golden-yellow ‘Bo’ leaves, one in each corner. A golden border encircling the background symbolizes the community of Buddhist monks. Moors and Tamil communities are represented by two green and saffron vertical stripes on the left. In 1950, the current flag was approved.

The traditional Kandyan dance, adorned with vibrant costumes and intricate movements, embodies the island's artistic heritage. The stylized moonstone, found in ancient temples, signifies the Buddhist path to nirvana. Additionally, the stilt fishermen along the southern coast are symbolic of the island's maritime culture.

The Kandyan Dances

The Kandyan, or up-country (udarata natum), dances, are regarded as the classical dance tradition of Sri Lanka. Kandyan dancers are traditionally performed only by male dancers. The technique, partly derived from South India, focuses on dynamism, powerful footwork, leaps and whirls. It has a vast repertoire, partly originating from an ancient indigenous ritual dance, partly influenced by South Indian dances. Kandyan dances are now probably the country’s most important cultural export. However, the most spectacular performances can still be seen in a religious context, particularly during the annual Kandy Perahera procession in the city of Kandy.

Temple of the Tooth

Located in Kandy, the Temple of the Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa) is a sacred site for Buddhists around the world. It houses a relic believed to be a tooth of Lord Buddha. The temple's annual Esala Perahera, or the Tooth Relic Festival, is a grand procession that showcases the rich cultural traditions of Sri Lanka.

The Tamil community contributes the karthigai vilakku, a lamp lighting ceremony, symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness. The intricate kolam designs, drawn in front of homes, reflect cultural aesthetics and auspiciousness.

Kolam Designs

Thaipongal is a harvest celebration, popular among all Tamil communities, predominantly in the Hindu religion. The kolam or rangoli as it is known in India is a trademark of many Hindu homes. Its concept can be traced back to many centuries, as it began as a humble housewife’s task to adorn the main entrance of the house with vibrant expression.

These symbols not only showcase Sri Lanka's cultural depth but also serve as a testament to the harmonious coexistence of diverse communities on this enchanting island.

Article on perception and communication

Perception and communication

Perception and communication are intricately linked, shaping our understanding of the world and influencing how we interact with others. Perception, the process of interpreting sensory information, lays the foundation for communication by filtering and organizing external stimuli.

Individual differences in perception, influenced by culture, experiences, and personal biases, contribute to varied interpretations of the same message. These differences can lead to misunderstandings, emphasizing the importance of cultivating awareness and empathy in communication.

Effective communication hinges on not just the sender's intended message but also the receiver's interpretation. Miscommunication often arises when assumptions about shared perceptions go unexamined. Developing active listening skills and clarifying expectations can bridge gaps in understanding. Moreover, technology has introduced new dimensions to perception and communication. Digital platforms allow for instant global connections, yet they also pose challenges such as misinterpretation of tone in written messages.

In conclusion, perception shapes the lens through which we view the world, influencing our communication patterns. Recognizing and respecting diverse perspectives, coupled with honing clear and thoughtful expression, fosters meaningful and effective communication in our dynamic and interconnected society.

For You

I wanted to write like this for you dear,💕

You and I are on a journey to fulfill our dreams, goals, hopes and find happiness through them.😇

So, with that you live among a lot of people you don't know. Some of them are mostly looking at you. Be careful what you say and what happens to you.👀

There are people who can be happy with what is good for you and people who are unhappy at the same time.

So, let everyone who is staring at you in general think about you any way. Allow things to criticize you, talk anything about you, find out about you.

But don't pay attention to it and go on your life. In this journey, there may be less places that go right and more places that go wrong. Learn to see the same good or bad reactions you get from people everywhere. Because the one who accepts you today can reject you tomorrow. When we get used to accept every response moderately, there are less obstacles in our journey.👻

Don't give your attention to people who stare at you, criticize you and interrupt your journey. Because, you have to realize that their purpose is to stop you.

When you're on your journey and your dreams come true, everyone you call your success will finally welcome you. Will take you as an example.

I wish you could make that day soon !

Best Movie I Have Ever Seen

 Leo 2023

The film name is ‘’Leo’’. It  is a 2023 Indian Tamil action thriller film directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by Seven Screen Studio. The film stars Vijay in the titular role, alongside Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, Trisha, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mysskin, Madonna Sebastian, George Maryan, Mansoor Ali Khan, Priya Anand and Mathew Thomas. The film has music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography handled by Manoj Paramahamsa and editing by Philomin Raj. Leo was released worldwide on 19 October 2023 in standard and IMAX formats to mixed reviews from critics. Inspite of this, it set several box office records for a Tamil film and emerged as the fifth highest-grossing Indian film of 2023.

Summary of the story :

Parthiban "Parthi" is an animal rescuer and a café owner in Theog, Himachal Pradesh living with his wife, Sathya, son Siddharth "Siddhu" and daughter Mathi "Chintu".

One night, Parthi and Chintu are at the café when Shanmugham, a robber, and his men arrive to rob it. Parthi tries to appease them by giving them money, but one of the gang members makes a move on his employee Shruthi. Enraged, Parthi beats up all of them. When one of them attempts to kill Chintu, Parthi guns all of them down without hesitation, but later has an emotional breakdown. Initially arrested, Parthi is released for having committed the murders in self-defense, but his photograph appears in newspapers all over India. One such image is seen by notorious gangster Harold Das in Telangana, who informs his elder brother, Antony Das about him. Antony immediately leaves with his men for Theog.

Meanwhile, Shanmugham's relatives attempt to kill Parthi and his family, prompting him to request a high-ranking, armed police officer from Tamil Nadu to be sent to his house for protection. Parthi's request is granted as Napoleon, having been promoted recently following his heroics with Dilli in Tiruchirappalli, is assigned to protect his family. On meeting Parthi, Antony insists that Parthi is his son, Leo Das, who was assumed to be dead, but Parthi vehemently denies this. Antony threatens him to accept his identity and surrender or face the consequences. Antony meets Sathya and tells her that Leo is a mass murderer, prompting her to dig into Parthi's past. At the same time, Joshy starts digging into Leo's past and learns about his friend, Hridayaraj D'Souza, who was arrested and is to be hanged in three days. On meeting with Hridayaraj, Joshy learns about Leo's past.

In 1999, Antony established a tobacco factory called Das & Co. Harold returned to India from Canada and started manufacturing and smuggling datura, a drug significantly more lethal than cocaine, using the factory as a front as their tobacco products did not take off. Antony's twin children, Leo and Elisa Das, did the dirty work for them to run the business smoothly. Being a strong believer in the occult, Antony tried to sacrifice Elisa based on his astrologer's advice, as this would have allowed their tobacco products to take off. Enraged, Leo sets fire to all of Harold's drugs, but Harold manages to kill Elisa and Antony shoots Leo, who was since presumed to be dead.

On hearing this, Joshy is convinced that Parthi is not Leo, while Sathya also gets definitive proof of the same. Meanwhile, Antony kidnaps Siddhu and tells him that he will sacrifice Siddhu as he could not sacrifice Elisa with his own hands. Parthi and Napoleon give chase to Antony and his men, and Parthi eventually catches up with them. He finishes off Antony and his men but does not find Siddhu. Harold learns about Antony's death and calls Parthi to bring Antony's body in return for Siddhu. As Parthi goes to Harold's lair, Harold reveals that he has sent men to kill Sathya and Chintu. However, Napoleon, Joshy, and the hyena finish off all the men. Harold's men attack Parthi at their lair, but he manages to fend them off. As Harold and Parthi engage in a fistfight, Parthi grabs a gun and holds Harold at gunpoint.

At this point, Harold admits that Parthi is not Leo and states that he and his family can walk away freely. However, Parthi starts laughing and finally admits that he is Leo before gunning down Harold, rescuing Siddhu and torching the entire Das & Co. factory. Leo states that he has done nothing good in his past and anyone who insists on knowing his story must either die or already be dead.

In an epilogue, as peace returns to Parthi's life, he gets a phone call. The caller reveals that he knows Parthi is Leo and tells him that destroying only his family's datura factory was not enough to make the society drug-free as drugs are rampant all over India. The caller also says that he knows Parthi recognizes his identity, as Parthi sighs in exasperation.

So, the summary of the story can be shown in this way. With a very realistic performance and a good direction as well as a good editing, the work team has managed to create a very successful movie and win the attention of the fans.

Photo Diary

Hey guys welcome to another post in My diary. Today I'm going to share my photo collection with small description for all of you ❤✌

TOKYO CITY

The photo above shows the city of Tokyo. Tokyo is the most popular and the number one industrial city in the world. I captured this my camera on the Rainbow Bridge while my Japan tour. The Rainbow Bridge is a famous bridge in Japan and a place of tourist attraction. It was built to connect two cities over the Pacific Ocean by Kawasaki corporation. This photo is very beautiful because the city is lit up at night.

Few Boats are on the Pacific Ocean and their lights was make the picture very beautiful. In the distance you can see the big buildings of the city and the famous Tokyo Tower. The lights of the city fall on the sky and it also looks beautiful.

NISSAN GTR-R35 MOTORCAR

This is the most popular sport car manufactured by Nissan company in Japan. Named as Nissan GTR R35. This is my dream car and I took that photo during my trip to Japan in 2019 while the car was parked at my uncle's car sale in Yachiyo , Japan.

The GT-R is powered by the VR38DETT engine, a 3,799 cc (3.8 L; 231.8 cu in) 60° degree DOHC V6 engine – which is shorter than other V6 engines and benefits weight distribution. The engine is based on the VQ engine, but thoroughly modified to improve performance and suit the car.

The GT-R is offered worldwide, unlike its predecessors which were sold in a limited number of markets. It received various facelifts and updates to be up to date with the competition, and several special editions were also offered during its prolonged production span. The car is used in motorsports, notably winning championships in the FIA GT1 World Championship, Super GT and GT3 racing. It is well received among enthusiasts and automotive publications as well, British motor magazine Top Gear named it as "one of the most incredible cars of any kind ever built", due its exceptional performance and practicality given at an affordable price. Despite being one of the fastest production cars, it has won numerous notable accolades such as the World Performance Car of The Year among many others.

Someday I will become to the owner of GTR-R35

BMW GS1200 R MOTORBIKE

This is the most popular dual sport motorcycle manufactured by BMW company in Germany. Named as BMW R1200GS. This is one of my favorite bike and I took that photo during my trip to Japan in 2019 while the bike was parked at bike export place in Funabashi-Narashinodai , Japan.

This motorcycle have a 1,170 cc (71 cu in), two-cylinder boxer engine with four valves per cylinder. The Adventure has a large-capacity fuel tank and long travel suspension. As of 2012, BMW's R1200GS bikes are their top-selling models.

In 2004, the R1150GS Adventure model of the previous series of BMW boxer-twin engine bikes was used by Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman for an epic motorcycle road trip from London to New York City via Europe, Asia, and Alaska, and the Adventure was in the book and TV series, Long Way Round. In 2007, the same pair used R1200GS Adventure BMWs for a sequel trip from John o' Groats in Scotland to Cape Agulhas in South Africa, this project being documented in Long Way Down.

HONDA HORNET 600cc

This is my favorite bike in my bike collection. I imported this from Japan and got a special license for it in Sri Lanka because it is an highcapacity motorcycle and it is prohibited to use in Sri Lanka. This is a Honda Hornet CB600F model motorcycle manufactured in Japan in 2006. It is manufactured in Japan for the European market. There is a great demand for this in the market because of it has attractive appearance and high performance. I took this photo at my house.

The Honda CB600F (known as the Hornet in Europe and Brazil and 599 in the U.S.) is a standard motorcycle manufactured by Honda. It is powered by a 599 cc (36.6 cu in) liquid-cooled inline-four engine, originally a detuned version of that in the Honda CBR600 sport bike, which currently produces around 102 bhp (76 kW). The 'Hornet' name was not taken to North America as AMC, and its successor, Chrysler, had trademarked the name with the AMC Hornet. The Honda CB600F Hornet was introduced for Europe in 1998. It was based on the CB250F that was restricted to 250 cc (15 cu in) at its home-market (Japan) because of local laws (this bike was released only in Japan from 1996 or 1997 until 2015, when it was succeeded by the CB300F). The bike has a six-speed transmission. Its suspension consists of a single shock in the rear and a conventional telescopic fork in the front until it was succeeded by an upside-down fork in 2005. Its brakes are dual-disc, Nissin twin piston in the front and single-disc, Nissin single piston in the rear. It was given the 16 in (410 mm) diameter front wheel and 17 in (430 mm), 180 section rear wheel setup from the Fireblade.
As a sport-oriented motorcycle that provides an upright riding position, it is considered a standard or "naked bike".

I love this bike and love riding it with my friends when bike tours...

MEIJI JINGU GARDEN, JAPAN

This photo shows Meiji Jingu Park in Japan. I took that photo during my trip to Japan in 2019. It is a very beautiful tourist attraction place in the japan. The ''gelbes laub'' trees here turn up in the most beautiful colors during the autumn season, and those colors are green, yellow, orange and red respectively.

Meiji Shrine Outer Garden (明治神宮外苑, Meiji-jingū Gaien) is a Western-style garden in the Kasumigaokamachi neighborhood of Shinjuku Ward and the Aoyama neighborhood of Minato Ward in Tokyo. It was created by private volunteers to convey the virtues of Emperor Meiji (3 November 1852 – 30 July 1912), and his wife Empress Shōken. It was consecrated in 1926 as the outer garden of Meiji Shrine. The inner garden is Japanese in style, while the outer garden is Western. Meiji Memorial Picture Gallery and Meiji Jingu Stadium are located in the vast site.

We can reach that place by train on 5 minutes’ walk from Gaienmae Station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line.

Here are some photos from my collection with details. I hope this will be useful for you. see you a different post. bye bye 👋
