Unforgettable Day
Last month, my university buddies - Pamod, Sudesh, Bhanu, Dinuka, Dilshan, Sashi, Pathiba, Niranga, Sureni, Uthpala, Gima and Tharuka - embarked on a heartwarming journey to reconstruct Nelumpathgama Primary School in the quaint town of Kekirawa. We organized the endeavor, and as we passed through Kekirawa, we purchased necessary equipment and painting materials. After a satisfying lunch at "Kumbuk Sewana" Hotel, we navigated the challenging rural terrain to reach our destination.
The difficulty of transportation did not deter our spirits.
For a week, we dedicated ourselves to reviving the school, painting its walls,
and rejuvenating the playground. Amidst our efforts, we even took breaks to
bathe in serene lakes, creating memories that blended the joy of hard work with
the beauty of nature.
The kindness of the neighbors around the school played a
pivotal role. Their support and assistance were invaluable as we navigated the
challenges of the rural environment. Their generosity touched our hearts,
making the entire experience even more meaningful.
As the week concluded, the transformed school stood as a
testament to our collective dedication. On the final day, we presented gifts to
the students, witnessing the joy in their eyes as they received them. The sense
of fulfillment and happiness within our group was immeasurable.
That was the incident my most memorable...good bye guys 👋
